"I have stayed in many B & B's in the UK over the years, and this one is probably the best so far. I often play the game of 'If this was my place what would I do with it to make it better?' In this case the answer was..absolutely nothing! Everything has been thought out carefully with the guest in mind.... We will certainly be back, and have recommended it to at least half a dozen fussy friends so far!"
"My wife and I have just returned from Devon having spent three nights at Golden Lion House. We were allocated The Dartington which was like a living room and included a two seat sofa in front of a full size TV. It was a very good size, and tastfully furnished and one of the largest I have stayed in Judging by the comments of other guests it would seem the other rooms were as good.
For breakfast my wife helped herself to fresh fruit salad and dried fruit compot with yogurt. I had the Full English and I have to say it was excellent. Again judging from other guests requirements there were a number of variations to chose from if you wanted a cooked breakfast. We found Ashburton to be a very friendly town with some great Pubs. Stayed March 2012."
"A lovely place to stay, large airy room, incredibly comfortable large double bed, great host, delicious breakfast, plus all the trimmings like free wifi, a great choice of books and guides, easy private parking etc etc. Just brilliant and one of the best UK B and Bs ever."

"This is one of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in. The property is beautiful, room spacious (with lovely seating area), bed comfy, breakfast tasty and countryside stunning. Even though we live in Exeter, this was our first visit to Ashburton and it won't be our last!"
"Our room was delightfully large compared with the norm for B&Bs. The decor is modern while remaining in sympathy with the grand old house and furniture is comfortable. It really does feel they have thought through what would make their guests' stay enjoyable. Our stay here was part of a trip round Devon and Cornwall during which we stayed in 7 different B&Ss but this one was definitely one of our favourites with a superb breakfast."
"The room was immaculately clean and really comfortable. It is very obvious that a lot of thought and care has gone into making this a lovely place to stay. We didn't have the cooked breakfast on offer but thoroughly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad and home made bread. We were made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend Golden Lion House to anyone travelling to the area."
