I have stayed in many B & B's in the UK over the years, and this one is probably the best so far. I often play the game of 'If this was my place what would I do with it to make it better?' In this case the answer was..absolutely nothing! Everything has been thought out carefully with the guest in mind.... We will certainly be back, and have recommended it to at least half a dozen fussy friends so far!

 

 

Our room was delightfully large compared with the norm for B&Bs. The decor is modern while remaining in sympathy with the grand old house and furniture is comfortable. It really does feel they have thought through what would make their guests' stay enjoyable. Our stay here was part of a trip round Devon and Cornwall during which we stayed in 7 different B&Ss but this one was definitely one of our favourites with a superb breakfast.

 

 

The room was immaculately clean and really comfortable. It is very obvious that a lot of thought and care has gone into making this a lovely place to stay. We didn't have the cooked breakfast on offer but thoroughly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad and home made bread. We were made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend Golden Lion House to anyone travelling to the area.
